Pick a shirt, drop your artwork on it, set your sizes, and watch the price move as you go. What you see on screen is what shows up in the box.
Most print shops ask you to email artwork and describe what you want. Then you wait, and hope the thing that shows up matches the thing in your head. We built the editor to delete that entire gap.
No phone calls. No paper forms. No guessing. Start your order and you will have a real price in about two minutes.
Most people asking for custom t-shirts need one of two very different processes. You can switch between them in the editor and compare the actual prices on your actual job rather than guessing from a chart.
| Screen printing | DTF (direct-to-film) | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | 15+ shirts, 1–8 solid colors | 1–20 shirts, photos or gradients |
| Setup cost | $30 per color, one time | None |
| Per-shirt cost | Drops fast with quantity | Flat, regardless of quantity |
| Feel | Ink in the fabric, very durable | Soft, flexible film layer |
| Color limit | 8 per location | Unlimited, full photographic |
| Artwork | PNG only | PNG or JPG |
Rule of thumb: under 15 shirts, or a photographic design, use DTF. Over 15 with a clean logo, use screen printing — cheaper per shirt and it will outlast you.
The editor pulls from the full SanMar catalog, so you are not stuck with one house blank. A few we recommend constantly:
The editor accepts image files directly. Which formats depend on the method, because the methods need different things from your file.
| Method | Accepted files | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Screen printing | PNG only | Needs a transparent background and hard edges so each ink color separates cleanly onto its own screen. |
| DTF / full color | PNG or JPG | Prints full color, so a flat photographic file works. PNG still preferred if you want a transparent background. |
| Embroidery | PNG or JPG | We convert your image to a stitch file, so either works. Clean, high contrast art stitches best. |
| Sublimation | PNG or JPG | Full color process, same as DTF. |
Rule of thumb: screen printing needs a PNG. A JPG cannot hold a transparent background — it fills it in white — and that white box will print. Everything else takes PNG or JPG.
Yes — set the method to DTF in the editor. No minimum, full color, and a single shirt is a normal order. Screen printing is the one that needs 15 pieces.
Build the job in the online editor and the price appears as you go. Change the quantity, ink colors, garment, or print locations and the number updates immediately.
There is no quote form and nothing to wait for. Most people have a real number inside two minutes.
15 pieces per design. Screen printing has fixed setup work — burning screens and registering the press — that happens whether you order 15 shirts or 500.
Need fewer? Switch the method to DTF in the editor. No minimum, full color, and a single shirt is a normal order.
Three things move the price: quantity, ink colors, and which blank you pick. More pieces and fewer colors means less per shirt. Screens are a one-time $30 per color, and we keep them on file so reorders skip that charge.
Rather than quote ranges at you, the editor prices your exact job live.
Standard turnaround is 5–10 business days. Rush runs 24–72 hours depending on the size of the run and what is on the press schedule.
Hard deadline — a game, an opening, a shift change? Put it in the job notes when you order and we will confirm in writing before we produce.
Yes. We mix plastisol to Pantone (PMS) numbers. Set your ink colors in the editor, and if you have official PMS codes put them in the job notes so we match to those rather than to our best guess.
Screen printing: PNG only. DTF, embroidery, and sublimation: PNG or JPG.
You upload the file directly in the editor and see it land on the garment immediately, so you know it worked before you order.
Because a JPG cannot store a transparent background. It fills transparency with white, and on press that white becomes a printed white box around your design. PNG keeps the background genuinely empty and holds the hard edges each screen needs.
If all you have is a JPG for a screen print job, send it to sales@a1aprintshop.com and our art department will convert it properly.
That is what sales@a1aprintshop.com is for. Send whatever you have — vector files, a PDF, a photo of something drawn on paper — and our art department turns it into a print-ready file.
Once it is ready you will have a PNG you can drop straight into the editor and order like anything else. The email route is for artwork only; ordering still happens in the editor.
You build the proof. What you see in the editor — garment, color, print size, placement — is what goes into production, so the usual back-and-forth over a mockup does not happen.
We still review every file before it goes on press and will contact you if something will not reproduce well at the size you set.
Yes, at no extra charge, and you enter the breakdown yourself in the editor — a grid of sizes by garment color, so you can see exactly what you are ordering.
2XL and up carry a small blank upcharge from the mill, which the editor applies automatically. We box everything sorted by size.
Both. Free local pickup at the Fort Pierce shop. We ship nationwide, and shipping is calculated from your ZIP at checkout so nothing gets added afterward.
